Did you know that belts are one of the most important parts of your vehicle? Although you might not see them unless you are looking under your hood, belts work hard to keep your car running. If you lose or break a belt, you can have immediate engine trouble.

What do the belts do? The belts are necessary for the cooling, air conditioning and charging systems of the engine. In addition, they operate the water pump, alternator, power steering and air-conditioning compressor.

Time, heat and pressure can eventually damage the belts in your vehicle. If you hear a squeaking, screeching or squealing noise or if your car is idling rough, you could very likely have a belt that needs to be replaced. Ignoring these sounds or symptoms can ultimately cause your car to stop working and end up costing you more money in repairs.

In order to avoid the hassle of breaking down and getting stranded, stop by First Tire & Automotive and have one of our ASE Certified Technicians inspect your belts to see if they need to be replaced or adjusted.
