After an extensive searching, reading credentials, reviews of multiple shops within 10 mile range around Katy, and after using multiple shops over the years since moving to Houston Texas area, in search of a shop, mechanic I can trust , like my old mechanic for 20+ years back in San Francisco, California, We’ve gone so close and the trust was soo solid that we have considered each others like family, not just between him and I, but our families as well. Now back to FT &A at the present, as mentioned I’ve been to different shops, including the dealerships ( yes plural) gone are the days where using the dealership gives you a piece of mind that you and your vehicle will be treated right, I dropped off my vehicle at the dealership for front suspension issues, dropped it off and I was told I’d get a phone call in the morning, morning came and went, no Ford dealership call or txt, so I called them for status on what extent my vehicle needs repair, I was again promised by end of day, again it came and went , not even a courtesy call or txt, fast forward to a week after drop off, and after sending me a lists of what needs done, gave me a quote ( VERY STEEP), before I agreed, I called my second Father ( mechanic) back in SF, he was so upset for me that he was ready to fly to Houston and do it himself, his wife told me ,but i stopped him cause it’s NOT the best option ( for a lot of reasons).I got dropped off the dealership with one goal, that is, to take my vehicle out of there, and did, I was heading home when I was rerouted because of all the construction and the cars double parked on the side road to pickup their students,I ended up still stuck right in front of FT & A , and when I noticed the signs I thought maybe I’d stop and park on the side, check the reviews and credentials , and out of frustration and fear that my suspension would come undone underneath as I drive it home, I went in and I was greeted by Nick who was behind the counter, I explained briefly what the issue is, and handed him the unfinished work order from the dealer, Nick very professionally explained everything, they would start with the paper from the dealer, but will also double check to make sure what’s in the paper is what needed to be done or not, he even explained the process they’d do, also explained the type of parts that they’d be using on my vehicle, right there alone I was already impressed and my old mechanic who was listening in in my phone, he did a double tap sound in my phone indicating he agrees, so I left the vehicle for them to do exploration , called me before the days end and again explained in detail what they found out, along with a written W.O. Detailing every item, including one item the dealership listed as bad , but FT&A ruled out as , an unnecessary upsell from the dealership, Nick gave me a initial , ballpark quote me an Original amount based on what the dealership report, and that alone is an indication that Ford was over priced, waaay overpriced for the same exact job, compared to FT&A, so I was sold and decided to let them work on my vehicle and do the fact finding., Nick called me the next morning before they get started and as mentioned earlier one item on Fords list was found to be not and issue and that saved me a good amount of the total bill, so I signed off on everything, but minutes after I hanged up I called him back to add few items that nick identified as “need” to do, i initially turned it down , i was so caught up with what I was saving from the initial quotes, but since I did wanted to do a tune up before the suspension issue showed up, I called em right back up and asked him to add the Tune up , which bumped up the cost higher than the original quote, but atleast this one I know is needed. Great job FT& A crew! Nick was very honest, professional and after interacting on some of the actual mechanics that worked on my vehicle, I knew I found a home for my vehicles, and most of all Faith restored, knowing people are still Trust worthy. I’ll definitely ask my friends to give em a try .
